The cost of the “no purchase"

It is weird to talk about the cost of something that hasn’t been bought, usually you think you have saved some money, indeed it’s not like that. In several cases you don’t save money but simply you didn’t invest the money that sooner or later can reveal a disadvantage rather than an advantage.

For instance, to deny a solution that allow your clients to obtain from your corporate site some documents that otherwise you will have to print and then deliver, it will implies a cost rather than a benefit. Think for example to a catalogue downloadable on line: it is your customer that downloads the catalogue, think about the paper and make it together to work on it.

If you had a hundred of clients, or even only fifty, you will have to do the job for everybody and for every update the cost of the non purchase is clear... the calculation is easy to do.
